She grew up in Falls Church, where she spent most of her childhood. She first became interested in acting and performing arts when she was a young person and began her dance training at the Washington School of Ballet. After participating in several school plays, she had great success with her dancing career. When she entered high school, she was a part of every musical that her school did and this was the time she began acting instead of dancing. she even earned her Equity card while performing for an annual summer production of Aida. She attended Carnegie Mellon University, where she took classes in drama.
